This
month we would like to offer you an extra
savings on a last- minute houseboat trip with
us. We have openings to fill during
the first 10 days of June, so if you can
schedule your vacation during that time frame you
can take 35% off the regular rates!
Mention the May newsletter special when you
call us to schedule any new houseboat
reservation between June 1 - 10! (By the way,
these are
the best fishing dates too)

One of the most
exciting parts of a Voyagaire houseboat vacation
is the chance to see and photograph the amazing
wildlife here in the Park. This is an
immature bald eagle seen on Shoepack Lake.
The Park aerial count on April 8, 2010 found 69
eagle nests here with 30 of them being actively
incubated. |

Thanks
to the Hogan family for
sharing their wonderful
photographs with us. This is a
beautiful example of the
exposed rock formations that
Voyageurs National Park is so
well known for. At
Voyageurs you will find
ancient sediments that compose
the southern portion of the
Canadian Shield. These
represent some of the oldest
formations in the entire world! |

Opening
Weekend |
|
|
|
We
hope that you were all able to
get out and enjoy this past
weekend. Walleye opener
in Minnesota was Saturday and
most of the state had amazing
summer-like weather!
Here it was perfect:
sunny and in the
seventies. The governor
was in Voyageurs National Park
and we are proud to report
that he did NOT get skunked
(like last year!) Our
friends at Lake Kabetogama and
the Ash River hosted a
fabulous weekend for him. Guests here at
Voyagaire did well and report
catching many walleye larger
than usual. Doesn't
this fresh shore lunch look
absolutely delicious? |
