Fishing thus far for the season
June 3rd, 2009Fishing has been pretty decent so far this season. The opener was fantastic, lots of pig Walleye’s, with a good mix of eaters/keepers. You may have seen the recent Star Trib story from a writer that was in the area over opener. He reported several fish over 27″. The Sturgeon have been pretty active as well, wiht a good mix of Muskie too!! That’s right Muskie! They have been infiltrating down the Vermillion River over the years and they are really doing well. Last week I saw two over 42″. Walleye has slowed a bit, I think they are post spawn. Cooler nights are keeping the water temp down a bit (mid 50’s) so the Bass are not going crazy yet. More to come.
